Everyday in the Waldorf Kindergarten by Toki Oshima

I am delighted to introduce this beautiful new book by my friend and colleague Toki Oshima, offered exclusively through Bella Luna Toys.

Through beautiful, full-color pastel illustrations, Toki has created a sweet and inspiring book of images that will be familiar to any child who has ever attended a Waldorf kindergarten or Waldorf-inspired preschool program.

With lots of pictures and simple text, Everyday in the Waldorf Kindergarten depicts young children engaged in the day-to-day activities of a Waldorf kindergarten: Arriving with a parent; playing; building houses with playstands; sewing; painting; circle time; chopping vegetables; baking bread; resting; cleaning up; getting dressed; playing outside; watching a puppet play; and finally, going home again!

This book is not only a delight for children to whom these activities are familiar, but can also be a wonderful way to ease the transition for a child who is about to attend a Waldorf early childhood program for the first time.

Softcover, 42 pages

More About This Product

When this beautiful new book arrived at our house, my 16-year-old son William, who attended a Waldorf kindergarten, leafed lovingly through each page, making such wistful statements as "I remember making Stone Soup!" and "We ground grain like that in my class."

Everyday in the Waldorf Kindergarten documents such fond childhood memories.

Toki Oshima is currently the lead kindergarten teacher and early childhood chair at the Ashwood Waldorf School in Rockport, ME, where she and I taught together for many years.

Toki is also a talented artist and is part of a family of musicians. She is the mother of two beautiful and equally talented boys. I am blessed to call her a friend.
