Waldorf 16 Inch Dress Up Boy Doll

Each Waldorf Dress-up Doll was lovingly made by hand with incredible skill and attention to detail by Evi Dolls.

Evi Dolls are made by the Atelier de Bonecas Evi in Brazil. It began its work in 1988 as a small business that had as its objective the teaching of handicrafts to single mothers from poor families. While making Waldorf dolls in their own homes, they could go on with their housework and take care of their children. The intention was to allow mothers to develop worthy and creative work that allowed them to stay at home with their children.

After some time, people with disabilities who were not adapted to the demands of the job market were also included. As worldwide demand for these beautiful Waldorf dolls grew, it was no longer possible to reconcile the growing production with proper attendance to the people that demanded special care.

Therefore, the Associacao Benificente Parsifal was founded in 1991 dedicated to serving children and adults with special needs. The Atelier de Bonecas Evi has continued to work with the women artisans. The women are paid fair trade wages, and the Atelier also helps the women in other ways to secure stability for their families. Many of the women have worked there since the beginning, and it has made a real difference for them and their families.
