This sweet weighted doll is a just a smidge smaller than our bestselling Heavy Baby™ Waldorf Dolls, so is perfectly sized for younger children, ages one and up. This Little Heavy Baby Waldorf Doll comes in a velvety soft rose colored bunting and has a medium skin tone.
Heavy Waldorf Babies were first developed in 1919 in Germany to imitate the feel and weight of a real infant. There are several distinctive features of these beautiful dolls that define them as true Waldorf dolls, including the characteristic Waldorf doll's head with intentionally simple hand embroidered facial features encourage imagination and creativity during play.
Made from the original design and pattern created by Trish Mooney, this is the traditional Little Baby Doll.
Filled with wool stuffing that gets warmer the longer a child holds their doll, and the lavender-scented millet which gives weight and a life-like feel that fosters nurturing, Little Heavy Baby (like its larger sibling) is just right for a child who needs settling and comforting or has the need to "lug," for extra sensory care.
