This high quality pentatonic glockenspiel from Auris has spent years produces clear, pure tones that create a lovely sound experience for young children.

Like our other pentatonic instruments, this glockenspiel uses a five-note scale, tuned to the following notes:

The bars are coated with a fine layer of beeswax to enhance the luster of the brass. The hardwood maple body is finished with wood varnish and beeswax polish

Because all the notes are in harmony with one another, any song your child plays will sound beautiful and in tune.

Comes with one rubber mallet and one wooden mallet.

Note: Because musical notation is different in northern Europe where the Auris Glockenspiel is made, the note B is represented by the letter H on this instrument.

More About This Product

I used an Auris Pentatonic Glockenspiel just like this one in my classroom for all the years that I taught in a Waldorf school.

I used it to play a little tune before presenting a puppet show or telling a story. It's heavenly tones helped to immediately calm and focus the children.

During free play when the children wanted to tell their own stories to each other, they would ask for the glockenspiel and would introduce their stories in the same way with a musical introduction!

"The glockenspiel came this afternoon (2 days from Maine to Montana!) and hasn't been put down since it came out of the box. It's a pleasure to look at and a delight to play. What surprises me is how gently the kids have been playing it - they're so pleased with the beautiful music they're creating.

This has been one of the best purchases I've made yet. It's a beautiful little instrument, the kids love it (I'm a childcare provider as well as a grandma) and it's been in near-constant use since it came on Wednesday. The tone is delightful! Lots of thumbs up!"
