Maine Dory Rocking Boat

Built here on the coast of Maine by a former fisherman, this beautifully handcrafted rocking boat features lap joint construction, just like the full-size dories which have been used by fishermen for centuries along the coastal waters of Maine.

The exterior is painted with water-based latex paint, and interior is stained with a non-toxic, child-safe finish. Can be used indoors or out!

Each heirloom-quality rocking dory is signed, numbered and dated by the artist, who has been making these unique children's rocking boats here in Maine since 1997.

Available in three color combinations:

Blue and White
Red and White
Green and White

Each rocking dory can be personalized with a child’s name on the port (left) side of the bow for an additional $20.

Living on the coast of Maine and being from of a family of sailors, I knew I had to carry this rocking dory at Bella Luna Toys as soon as I first saw one!

Eco-friendly Construction

These unique rocking boats are built of hard and soft woods salvaged from local Maine lumberyards, and assembled in the boat builder’s solar heated workshop.

Built to last for generations, the top rails and inner ribs are fastened with solid brass screws. (See photos of their construction!)
