Emily and Daisy by Elsa Beskow was recently translated into English for the first time, with the sweetest illustrations to melt your heart! Young children will love following Emily through her day as unexpected, good things come her way.

Emily is a helpful little girl, so when her mother is worried that Daisy the cow will escape into the clover field through a hole in the fence, she offers to go and look after Daisy for the day.

On the way, she meets a big dog, a boasting boy, and an elderly man with a sack. When she arrives in the meadow, she realizes she needs help with Daisy and to mend the fence. To whom can she turn?

About the Author :

Elsa Beskow (1874-1953), born Elsa Maartman in Stockholm, was a pioneering author and illustrator of children's books in Sweden—perhaps the best known of all Swedish children's book artists. Her books were inspired by her own childhood experiences, as well as those of her six children. Central themes were the relationships between children and adults and children's independent initiative. Her books are continually reprinted, and many have become classics. She also illustrated ABC books and songbooks for Swedish schools.
