Looking for a simple and meaningful way to mark the festival of Michaelmas? Our friend Laura (@cosy.waldorf.fam) shared a beautiful craft that captures the magic of the day: handmade dragon eggs that hide sparkling treasures inside. Children can crack them open to discover the gem within, a perfect symbol of the light and courage we each carry inside. A delightful way to weave story and play into your Michaelmas traditions.

Gather Your Supplies:
These are the tools we used to create our Michaelmas Dragon Eggs:
- Air dry clay or salt dough
- Mineral stones
- Paint
- Paint brush
Create your Michaelmas Dragon Eggs:
Step 1:
Take a small amount of air dry clay or salt dough, shape it into a ball & make it flat.

Step 2:
Put a mineral stone in the middle and warp it with the air dry clay/salt dough.

Step 3:
Roll into an egg shape.

Step 4:
Let dry completely.
Step 5:
Paint as you like. Try to be creative!

Step 6:
Let dry and enjoy your Michaelmas dragon eggs! Hide them on Michaelmas and have your kids use a hammer or stone (with supervision) to "open" the eggs to find the stones inside.
