Can I use these to make finger prints, paint rainbows, leaves and flowers on organic cotton tshirts? I am looking for a fun educational way to have the children participate in designing their clothes?: Great question! This paint is formulated for use on paper. You could experiment with fabric, but keep in mind it may fade or be removed by washing.
We've tried using these paints now a few times and while I was expecting the colors to be muted and not vibrant, I was not expecting them to be gritty -- both during application and once dried. Some of the colors actually dried so light you can barely see them. I've tried using them on a few different types of paper with similar results. It shouldn't be that difficult -- mixing a 1:1 ratio with water -- but am I doing something wrong? The paints seem to have good reviews, but so far they do not seem to be working for us.: Because the Eco Paints are made from natural food-grade ingredients, they are not as bright and vibrant as traditional paints made from mineral or synthetic pigments. If you would like to experiment with getting brighter hues, I would suggest using less water when mixing the paint. If the paints aren't performing to your expectations, please reach out to our Customer Care team and they would be happy to help!
When I mixed our paints they came out as very light pastel colors. When they dried on paper you can barely see them. Any tips?: Paints are mixed with 1:1 ration with water and they are not vibrant like many commercial paints. You may find different results using dedicated finger painting paper which is slick and absorbs less of the paint.
Do these contain any of the top 9 allergens? (Dairy, eggs, fish, shell fish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, sesame seed) Or are they processed on shared equipment with any of the top 9 allergens?: I was happy to check with the manufacturer for you. The paints are made with rice flour and are manufactured in the same facility that processes the eco-dough which contains wheat flour and soy bean oil so there is the possibility of cross contamination.
I remember having "special" finger painting paper, shiny on one side. Is special paper recommended for this finger paint?
