2025 December Activity Calendar

December is here, bringing with it all the warmth, wonder, and joy of the holidays. To help you celebrate, we’ve crafted a calendar packed with inspiration. From heartwarming traditions to creative activities for the whole family. Let’s make each day this month a moment worth remembering.

Let's Get Started

December 1 - Make Winter Verse Cards

In the cold months of winter here in the northern hemisphere, a lot of us are probably spending a bit more time indoors than we'd like to. Creating a nature table can not only invite you to adventure outdoors a little more, it also provides space for many crafts to make it a beautiful, peaceful, well loved space in your home. Today we will share how to paint Waldorf winter verse cards to display on your nature table, complete with a frosty, icy-touched look!

December 2 - Upcycle Your Bella Luna Box

The holiday season comes with lovely gifts, the sweetness of time with family and... a lot of shipping boxes. We love sending you our little treasures in the mail, but if you are like us, you may have a few too many boxes that you don't want to just throw out. Crafting these cards is the perfect way to create something useful, beautiful and finally make use of your cardboard boxes!

December 6 - Celebrate St. Nicholas Day

St. Nicholas is, of course, the real-life inspiration for the modern idea of Santa Claus and the tradition of gift-giving at Christmas time. He was a bishop, born around the Year 240 AD in Asia Minor (modern day Turkey), and he was known for his acts of generosity, kindness and secret gift-giving.

December 7 - Second Light of Advent

"The second light of Advent
is the light of the plants
plants that reach up to the sun,
and in breezes, they dance."

Today is the second week of Advent! If you missed last Sunday, today is a great day to craft a Felt Advent Calendar to celebrate the next two weeks and save for next year.

December 17 - Create a Seasonal Table

Creating a seasonal nature table in your home is a way to bring the beauty of the natural world indoors, and to help children connect more deeply with nature. It gives them a space to collect the special treasures they've found outdoors on nature walks, and an altar of sorts to come back to for reverence. The ritual of changing the table's decorations in the beginning of each season, or month even, helps them to become aware of the natural rhythms of the year.
