August 11 - Volunteer at a Local Aid Center
Take a moment and see how you can volunteer and get involved with a local aid center. With all the blessings we are often given, it's nice to give back!

Encourage your child to glide and ride! Having fun on wheels helps stimulate gross motor development, balance, endurance, and encourages a lifelong love of activity.

August 14 - Create Flower Suncatchers
We love this sweet project from Sunny of Northwoodsfolk and we think it's the perfect kick-off to summer. With flowers and botanicals gathered from your own garden, a hike, or a trip to the farmers market- this craft is certainly perfect for Solstice! We love every little detail and we know you will too.
August 15 - Craft a Shadow Puppet Theater
Before screens, storytelling often began with nothing more than light, shadows, and a little imagination. Creating your own shadow puppets is a wonderful way to encourage creativity, language development, and open-ended play while spending meaningful time together. With just a few simple materials, children can craft their own cast of characters, build a miniature shadow theater, and bring favorite fairy tales, woodland adventures, or entirely new stories to life. Once the lights dim and the first shadow appears, an ordinary afternoon transforms into a magical performance everyone will enjoy.

Sunflowers are just in bloom, today see if you can visit a local sunflower farm and see these beautiful flowers. Don't live near one? Visit a park and see what nature treasures you can find.
August 19 - Make a Nature Mandala
One of the best parts of a day spent at the beach is collecting all of the amazing treasures. Whether it is a collection of shells, polished stones, or sea glass, these collections stay with us and offer lovely memories from our time spent by the shore.
